The Noise is back on Saturday May 18th and we will be focusing on doing projects and acts of kindness in our community.
If you would like to help with projects, sign up at church or let Debbie Dust know on 01494 529668 or firstname.lastname@example.org We’d also love to hear from you id you want to nominate projects and suggest ways to bless the community. We can’t guarantee all projects will be included this time round but we keep a list for when opportunities to help arise.
At St Andrew’s Church we want to be a transforming presence in our community. The Noise has become a regular fixture in the St Andrews calendar. We spend the day showing God’s love to our neighbours in real and practical ways.
We make a Noise by going to people’s homes and helping with gardening, decorating and DIY and by holding a HUGE fun day at the church where people can come and take part in activities, have lunch and sit and chat with someone.
Our Vicar Simon describes what goes on: “The Noise is a day for our community where people from St Andrew’s go out from the church to show God’s love, serving our neighbours in practical and real ways. We want to be part of transforming our community and that’s what The Noise is about.”
Teams go into our community to take part in projects such as redecorating living rooms, and transforming overgrown gardens into safe, fun spaces for families to play and spend time together.
Back at the Church local people take part in free activities including face painting, games, craft, family portraits and a bouncy castle. There is an all day café where many people meet their neighbours for the first time! Practical life skills classes are offered including cooking demonstrations and a CV workshop. We particularly love the Zumba taster sessions (provided by Pyramid Fitness) and Drama tasters (by Misfitz.) Both are really popular. We also wash cars – and all of this is for free!
