Lighthouse is a holiday week for children between the ages of 4 and 11 run by Christians from local churches. In 2012 over 1600 children spent a week having fun and finding out more about Jesus and this number increases every year!
The dates for Lighthouse 2013 are Monday 29th July to Friday 2nd August . We will post a link here when registration for children opens.
Do prayerfully consider if you’d like to be involved. Applications for 2013 leaders can be found here. Watch this promotional video to see how you can get involved!
St Andrew’s Church is primarily involved with Lighthouse at two sites: Lighthouse Hazlemere at Sir William Ramsay School and Lighthouse High Wycombe previously at the Royal Grammar School but now at Highcrest Academy, Hatters Lane!.
Fresh Cafe is 3 fun packed evenings during Lighthouse week for 11-17 year old Lighthouse keepers and lamplighters – AND FRIENDS too! Wind down after a day with all those Lighthouse children or just chill with your friends. Lots to do: football, tag rugby, volleyball, inflatables, games consoles, nail painting and, of course, the cafe!
Little Lighthouse for High Wycombe happens at St Andrew’s Church. Over 100 0-3year olds also get a chance to play, sing, do craft and eat loads of cake! Mum’s, dad’s and carers get share too!
As always the only limiting factor on the number of children we can take is the number of adult volunteers we have to act as leaders. There are a great variety of roles to be filled – lots working directly with the children, but loads of other tasks need doing, the shop, a welcoming cafe, registrations, site team, security, setting up and breaking site, PA & AV, admin tasks.
The Space caters for children with special needs at Lighthouse. We think it is really important to help them feel included. They have a list of items that will help them run the week which can be found here.
You can collect materials to be used in craft activities during the week. The list of items they will be here later in the year.
Have a look at Lighthouse for any other info and to keep in touch for 2013!
