Global Mission

Why Global Mission?

At St Andrew’s, we aspire to follow the call of Jesus to reach out in Compassionate Mission around the world. Jesus said ‘As the Father has sent me, so I send you’ Our priorities are to support church members who have a long-term calling to global mission, and to inspire and equip people both for short and long-term mission.

The following Mission Agencies involved include CMS, WBT and WEC For further information of these missions please click on the name to go to their website.

Short term mission

As part of our ongoing mission we look to send out people on short term mission trips. These are often supporting the work of our mission partners, such as Jenny Green at Potters Village in Uganda. We have sent out two teams in the last few years.

Jenny Green

Jenny Green is working with CMS in Uganda and has set up a wonderful Crisis Centre called The Potters Village. The centre is for young children who would otherwise have no hope for survival.

We are also developing a partnership with the local church in Kisoro, Uganda and the diocese there. Teams from St Andrew’s have been providing practical support.

A team went to visit Jenny and her team in January 2012 to run a holiday club, help out at Potters Village and to provide training for Church leaders.

Bishop Cranmer

Bishop Cranmer also from Uganda visited St Andrew’s in November 2010. Simon went back out in May 2011 and trained some church leaders.
